Why on earth would they lock the schools down? Drama, raising the emotional levels unnecessarily high? Trying to cause issues? I would bet that it all of the above. ICE isn’t after the school children - they are looking for the illegal adults … if they would use the toll line and arrange to self deport - ALL the issues would be solved.

The school closures regarding ICE’s law enforcement actions are unnecessary. Enforcing immigration law protects taxpayer dollars and does not inherently require family separation; these situations could be avoided through self-deportation. While vocal groups oppose ICE, their noise does not represent all Washingtonians. A significant number of residents support ICE's mission.
