to the experts here about agriculture ( beef) you know nothing about agriculture and have never worked in or around!!! now with that said very few farmers sell directly to the market but rather they sell at the auction sales and it's the middle man/processing plants that are making the biggest profits and setting the prices at the store
Greed! Plain and simple! The cattle ranchers are greedy! I can pay the prices but I refuse to! Twenty dollars a pound for steak is ridiculous. We usually have a standing rib roast at Christmas but won’t this year. You can eat quite well without beef 3-4 times a week. Watch for sales. Buy in bulk when you find a sale!
