What makes me mad though? We all cannot have phones, yet the teachers spend over half the class on theirs instead of teaching. The principal walks around staring down with a fresh coffee in his hand without a care in the world. Ts pmo.

What?!!!! Kids are going to have to follow instructions!! Oh No! What will their helicopter parents do?

Why don't we discuss the mental health impact the introduction of cell phones into the classroom had?

I think the teacher, staff, and faculty need their phones locked away. They can use the office line if need be same as students. Then, the real learning will begin

There's no mental health impact.

we have to discuss this? how stupid they should have never had cell phones at school ever ever ever ever

Just put the GD phones away so they can concentrate! This goes for adults in education also! Everybody's in a trance, spell, and mental compromise when that device is in our hands! The need for it is an illusion being exploited by elites! You never see them walking around with cell phones!

I wish the media would stop pushing for issues before there is an issue. With good parenting the kids will be fine without the phones at school.

Make the teachers get off theirs as well as their smart watch.

mental health impact? 😆😆😆😆😆

I didn’t get my first cell phone until 2002 when I was in 11th grade, but I got my daughter a phone when she was just 5. Kids these days are definitely spoiled lol.”

Anxiety!? Really, not haveing a cellphone doesn’t cause mental health issues. When is was in school we never had cellphones!

You have to be kidding me worried about kids mental health by not having their phones all day. It will probably help their mental health.!

it's going to be good for them. it's amazing that the kids today are having to be a cellphone potty trained. wonderful for them. direct contact with each other.

About time! Boo hoo for the poor babies!! I think they'll live!

Getting them ready for work environment. Many jobs do not allow phones. You are asked to leave it in your locker.

my generation made it all through school without a cell phone. And we're smarter for it.

I think it was a great thing for them to ban phones. They don’t need them school is for learning. They need to be focused on that not texting friends playing games and buggin parents to come get them :)

They should never have allowed phones in school in the first place. These kids are actually addicted to their phones. When you take them away they go through withdrawal. It’s going to be crazy as the school year starts.

Oh Whaaa crybabies ! Let’s not forget the primary reason cell phones don’t belong in classrooms. Do you want your children to learn or play with their phone ?!

they'll LIVE

Ahh tuff it up!! We did not have phones in the 80’s or 90’s… I can remember when I would have to take my mom’s flip car phone (a Motorola one) I’d be told to make sure it was off and kept in my purse!! I would have to take it I was going to say the mall or a friend’s home! My mom was very strict about it!!

Are you serious? This country is weak.

Young kids should not have a cell phone to begin with.Probably starting about six or seventh grade and they should not have them in school at all

Good these kids don’t need phones it’s a distraction from them learning, kids have a brain use it it’s called critical thinking go back to having books in the schools

school i was going to in the mid 90s we had pay phones, 4 or 5 of them, in the student center and we also had pagers.

Mental health? What about every single person that went to school prior to 2003.

lol

Sounds like some phone-free time will reduce dependence.

lol😆😆 who cares

Totally ridiculous. These kids need to not have phones, period......Tmobile has an app so you can turn cell phones off during certain hours. My kid's phones were turned off during school hours, and from 10 pm until 7 am. Then off again from 8 am to 4 pm.So, they could only use them from 7 am to 8 am, then 4 pm until 10 pm. They could only dial 911 in case of an emergency. They don't have mental issues.

The impact I’ve noticed as a teacher is that my students have actually started talking to each other. Like using their words and socializing like little functional human beings. They have brought uno cards to play during lunch and are actually building connections with their peers. How dare we want them to be normal functioning humans who can communicate with others using their words and not technology. 😂

Phones shouldn’t be used during classes not even by teachers .

be surprised what kids can do without their cell

My grandson says it's great, and the kids, on the whole, are loving it. They're talking to each other, making friends, laughing, and connecting to others. He said the vast majority think it's great.

I do believe initailly they will be some push back by the students but they will conform like other rules. When they get jobs they will have to keep off their phones. And I haven't heard of teachers on their phone while teaching their classes.

Kids are at school to learn. Not to be on their phones. And at work? You are on the clock, you need to be working.

schools are not teaching wat kids need to prepare for the future... teacher s an the kids are bad as hell don't listen don't Wana do nothing but acked up first it was punks in the restroom an teacher s think it was ok to force that shit on the kids that wanted to teach that ... male one thing that a.school teaches that u can't learn from home ...... common sense

Oh yea lest tell kids that now they have anxiety about not having their phone. That’ll boost the diagnosis and pharmacy business.

My 11 and 12 years old granddaughter doesn’t have a problem with it. They are not allowed on their phones after 8pm at home and not before 10 am on weekends. They can’t have phones until after church. Ijs

My granddaughter says the teachers are on their phones when they give assignments. What the kids have to do, so should the teacher 🙄 😲🤔!!!!

Get over it! Use this time to actually learn and have more human interaction.

next to come is no cell phones allowed during working hours. CALLING IT

I think it should apply to EVERYONE unless it’s an emergency situation.

🐂💩

Oh my lord 🙄 this is so stupid. We didn’t have cell phones in school when I was a teen (I graduated in 2002). We lived. Call the office to check on your kid. Kids can call home from the office. This isn’t the huge mountain they are making it.

gee back in the 70s & 80s growing up...we didn't have cellphones at all and we came out alright🤷♀️ kids today are SO reliant on cellphones and some parents (not all) out there are even providing cellphonesbto kindergarteners🤔 my kids didn't get a cellphones until they were highschool age due to them having afterschool activities and needed a ride home by the time their extra curricular were done the schools office was already closed for the day.

I am a teacher. They have been learning more than ever now that they cannot look at their phones.

Oh yeah I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s we had no phones in school
