so you’re cutting medicaid but forcing people into treatment? who is paying for that? and guess what you can force people all day long but that doesn’t mean they’re going to be ready you can’t force therapy or drug people on anyone and we don’t have anywhere near enough treatment facilities now as it is for VOLUNTARY treatment lol
And since we have less treatment for mental and addictions where are they going to go?
Homeless on drugs or having mental issues are not in any capacity to make their own decisions they need to be picked up and placed in facilities to get them off the streets ! If not they will continue to beg and steal to feed their mental and drug issues!! It’s no different from an intervention one would have on one’s family member!

when I was homeless,I actually got off drugs in one state by going to do volunteer work. unfortunately I was trafficked by a homeless shelter worker for her bag of meth to a anonymous man. wake up to the truth people!!!

You may want to think about it in a different manner. People become homeless for a multitude of reasons. People become addicted to drugs for a multitude of reasons. Leaving them on the streets does zero good. In a facility they will have a chance to get a long term solution. They may not want it but they may in time. As it is now, a person who’s diagnosed with a mental illness cannot be put into a facility unless they agree and many times they won’t. That only gets worse as time goes on. It needs to be where you are able to get help and get them into a facility before they become homeless or drug addicted. Without the time and expense of getting guardianship as that takes forever and lots of money
To treat homelessness you need to treat poverty. As long as billionaires don’t have to pay taxes you will have poverty

that's really stupid cause those group homes and sober houses and mental health facilities that treat drug addicts have drugs in them as well as many workers in the industry who are on drugs themselves. I have tried to get help for my drug addiction and lived in all of these places and all they did was teach me how to be a drug addict!

They’re not putting them in treatment facilities. They’re putting them in concentration camps, starving them to death waiting for them to die, and they threw the bodies in the incinerators at the power plants. That’s the reality of the situation. Another meaningless executive order from the wannabe king who has no clue how to govern or lead. This order is made to make him look like he’s doing something while doing nothing. First, there is no place to send people to 2nd his executive order does not supersede anyone’s civil rights just because he says so. One cannot be involuntarily locked away because others don’t like their appearance or the way they live.

The homeless situation and drug addiction has gotten out of hand. If some aren't helped they will die. Drug addiction makes people do things they normally wouldn't do, therefore just giving them housing isn't going to work.
No guns for homeless in Michigan. Gun application ask if you were ever involuntarily placed into a facility for mental health. If so, you will be disqualified from owning a gun.

OMG! As a certified, professional community mental health counselor, Trump’s ‘executive order’ defies the current laws regarding individual rights. AND, given that beds in facilities were available (there is usually a waitlist) who is paying for the expensive treatment? OR does Trump plan to build locked facilities and provide treatment as though they are criminals … at tax payers expense. THISE are 2 examples of Trump’s absurdity. I know these things as a professional who actually did have a couple of ‘out patients’ involuntarily committed.
