It's ridiculous how many self righteous and judgmental people are in these comments. While you guys are cheering about people not being allowed to get junk food, try thinking about something first.. there are people on SNAP that work every day but just don't make a lot of money, some of these people have children. Imagine it's your child's birthday and you want to get him or her a cake, but you can't because cake is now considered junk food. This is going to a scenario that happens to many. I get it.. the pro life party doesn't give a damn about any of these kids. They are only pro-birth. As for the mindless maggots that think this is great, just remember life can happen to any of us. Job losses, death, divorce and illness are real things. Karma has a way of coming to those who don't show empathy or compassion.

I want to know why people suddenly think they have the right to regulate the diets of anyone on assistance. They get a set amount of grocery money every month - wtf do you get to dictate what groceries they spend it on? In California there are fast food restaurants that accepts SNAP. Ridiculous

I work my butt off and my husband owns a small business. Every week I go to the grocery and I cannot afford soda or sweets, it’s just not in the budget. I cook 7 days a week. If I have a full time job and buy groceries out of my paycheck and cannot afford sweets then someone who receives food stamps should not be able to buy it either. If you receive food stamps you can’t afford it either!!!!!!

This is the most ridiculous thing ever. SNAP food should not be pleasant. People need to be motivated to get off SNAP. It’s to convenient and nice. Needs to cover, milk, eggs, bread, and canned goods (canned meat and canned veggies). That’s it !!! That’s all you get. And limited quantities so you can’t resell to buy cigarettes.

Chill out people if they do this you’ll still be able to have tons of junk food you’ll just have to make homemade. Food stamps will still pay for just about all the ingredients you’ll need to make tons of junk food like homemade ice cream, pies, cookies, cakes, chips, donuts, etc when it comes to drinks I don’t know. 🤷♂️ I believe we should stop the purchase of junk food on snap benefits as I’m a strong believer of eating healthy and making homemade food.

In the 60s and 70s we did not allow anything with sugar and water in their drinks and canned food, to be bought with food stamps. This is not new 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼Obama changed it.

If you want people to eat healthier, you need to either increase their benefits for the price of healthier food or work on making healthier food more affordable. I have seen 80 year olds not be able to afford the trip to the grocery store, so they buy food at the local dollar store, there aren't healthy foods at Dollar Tree. They get $90 a month. The math doesn't work. Meet inflation on food with SNAP and people will eat better because they can.
