I don't understand why this is an issue...states and counties can set their own minimum wage.Also if no one is willing to work for that then the wages will increase -supply and demand.Furthermore,it shouldn't be up to the federal government it should be up to states and counties as it is already.Federal minimum wage should be done away with all together in my opinion.
Minimum wage is not a living wage. It never was a living wage. You can’t even live on $16 an hour specially in states like Massachusetts and California and New York maybe two people getting $16 an hour could maybe get an apartment but they wouldn’t have much extra money, but it was never designed to live on. It was designed to get senior citizens out of their house and it was mostly for teenagers first job, so $16 an hour is a lot for a 16-year-old teenager that lives at home has no bills 💵
