I worked in a men’s maximum facility with no problems I know how to conduct myself and gave the men every reason with respecting me cause I respected myself and them
As a correctional officer I agree. Women officers can’t handle men inmates because of the constant affirmations they receive. They allow their emotions to take over rapidly.
Well, more men need to be applying for jobs at the prison. Men are not applying because they either can’t pass a physical and drug testing, they’re afraid, and/or have too many ties to the streets.
i agree. to the young lady that said she knows how to conduct herself as a correctional officer there are probably 2 or three that take advantage of the situation

Mr. Charleston White, I disagree with that statement. IT SHOULD BE WOMEN THAT ARE WEAK that shouldn't work in a man's facility. The majority come in without one key element that's overlooked in basic training. Undue Familiarity will cost you your job, which is expressed in every chapter of the manual. Then they let that uniform fool them, you come to do a job, not make friends. Some come in thinking they can treat inmates anyway they want. In order to be respected, you have to give respect, and you try to be fair as much as possible to everyone, and leave that favoritism outside of those gates, stay aware, safe, and focused, do your job, and go home. Sure women can work in a man's facility, they are better communicators, sometimes it's a woman that can calm a situation down. Not everyone is going to do right, but do your job within your scope. keep in mind of those SOP's.
