I had someone who moved in next door and for three days straight blocked my driveway and three times I went and banged on the door and told them to move it and stop parking there but the next day same thing only she didn't come to the door but as luck would have it a tow truck was coming by and I stopped him told him what was going on and he said ok he turned around and he had one of those repo trucks he backed up picked it up and drove off well next morning I was walking the dog and she came out and realized her car wasn't there she saw me and asked me where I played dumb I said where was it and your car wasn't here when I came home last night she would have blocked driveway all night she called the cops and they knew it was towed and they gave her the number after all said and done it cost her 325 dollars and she never parked there again it was very rewarding to watch
Next time, call a tow truck. It’s illegal to block a driveway. Tow charges start at $200 most places. So when his car disappears, then he finds out it was towed and will cost him say $300 to get it back, he won’t do it again, because his car will be towed again. You can also do this involving the cops - they will ticket him. They may try to find him, especially if he’s got outstanding things.

I had someone block me in and I didn’t even know who it belong. Not to mention I had to miss work. But I knew it had something to do with my neighbors. I asked them they acted like they were going to look for him. Anyway I waited and nobody can, so I called the police they send out 2-3 police cars.. the neighbors all of a sudden couldn’t speak English anymore😆they were from Venezuela. One was a bilingual officer. One of the officers called for a flatbed tow truck and towed away 2 cars. The officer said it both cars had fake plates on and the ven # didn’t match either I never had that issue again.

I can’t believe how many people don’t watch till the end and see that it is spray chalk and not spray paint.
Lucky for him that he didn't call the police. when he painted the car that in its self is a felony crime of destruction of property. so the dum ass is the one with the spray paint in his hand and believe me I would take a ticket for the felony charge for the other actions he parked in the driveway but the felony for painting his car priceless.

I feel for you but Spray painting the car may have 'felt good in the moment' but it will cost you more in the end. At this point he is free and clear - no ticket no tow. No one blocks my drive. My 2003 2500 hd with a black steel brush guard would push them into the bog accross the street. And they would say thank you. For not getting drowned in that bog. For $500 I will pull them out. They will pay it and quietly kick rocks and park on the other side of the block.

I had this problem with a neighbor once. Had his car towed every time he did it. He was dense. It took 7 times before he got tired of paying to get his car back.

Things are so very different from a long time ago. We used to be helpful to ones in the neighborhood when there was a need. But these days it seems no one wants to help anyone anymore. I just don’t get it. Why do they build houses with no driveways anyway, so that someone has to park on the street? Back a long long time ago no one had driveways. Everyone parked on the street. I remember my mamaw’s house with cars parked on the street. And I lived in the house my granddaddy built and it had no driveway, & none of the houses did. People parked along side our home & it’s just something that happens. This dude can still get in his driveway. I know it doesn’t look the greatest in the world, but who cares, you’re helping someone out. Maybe if the rest of the cats moved up a bit this guy wouldn’t be in his driveway as much. I don’t know? I guess I look at it differently.
You can buy very hard to Peel off stickers that says “do not block Driveway” and stick in on the drivers side windshield - it will come off with some elbow grease !!!!!!!

Just send parking enforcement to your house to give him a ticket. Does the spray chalk paint come off?
The owner needs to write down the license plate and video the obstruction also time parked and date. This is a violation and poses a serious situation for the homeowner and his family if he has an emergency and need an ambulance or fire truck. Also this restricts the homeowner and prevents him from getting in and out of his driveway. With the individuals attitude, he could be dangerous. The guy needs to be cited for endangering the homeowner and there was parking across the street. It appears that the person is doing this deliberately to provoke the owner but he in all likelihood will end up getting his car towed away and impounded for illegal parking. It will cost money to get the car and a ticket and court costs.
That is just total disrespect.

in commie NYC the NYPD must place a ticket on a car before a tow truck can tow a vehicle. I'd call but they NEVER in 30 years came to ticket. On winter nights, I'd spray their windshield with an oil spray and then pour flower over it. When they started their car and turned on their windshield wipers, they made dough. They couldn't see through the windshield and drove home with their head out of the window, freezing their faces off. In the summer, it was less interesting. I simply threw a rock through the windshield. The look of horror on their face at 4 am when they saw it from my office window was priceless. Ahh. The good old days.

We used that spray chalk for temporary street markings at my utility company. One guy spent all day cleaning up some rare find from an excavation, thought chalk was the color and had to clean it all over again and use actual paint!
