Please tell me I am not the only one who did not see the seal, and he was barking at the construction horses that look like dogs.. lol
I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that the owners of one of these really expensive boats has had it damaged from a sea lion before and that's why they have a working dog around the docks.
That is a Malinois. One of the most intelligent of all working dogs. He's just doing his job very well, by the way. No one was hurt, but the seal had to go. They do tons of damage to boats, docks, and anything they decide to camp out on.
Whoever owns that dog. Needs to be fined. For allowing the dog. To do that. The Sea Lion. Was just Sun Bathing. And next time. Have your dog. On a Leash
I did some research and found out this dog is indeed a working dog. His name is Gunner; he is trained to chase those seals away. There are numerous videos of him on TikTok.

That’s a good dog. The sea lion does not belong on a dock. Seal Lions belong away from the dock, there are plenty of islands and rocks to heal out on. La Jolla needs to have herding dogs out there. People and wildlife don’t mix! Sea Lions pollute the water!
