The victim, who was in a wheelchair, survived and is recovering. The confrontation: According to prosecutors, Gregory Timm, 32, confronted Harold Powell, 68, accusing him of falsely claiming to be a military veteran. When Timm demanded to see identification, he ripped a military patch from Powell's belongings. The shooting: In response, Powell drew a knife and an airsoft gun, but video shows Timm stepping back, pulling a real handgun from his bag, and shooting Powell once in the chest. Victim's condition: Powell was critically injured but survived the shooting. He was treated at Harborview Medical Center and has since been released to recover at home. Suspect arrested: Timm was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree felony assault. The defense's claim: Timm's attorney has claimed self-defense, but prosecutors argue this does not apply since Timm initiated the confrontation. Timm's history: Timm has a history of erratic behavior, including ramming a vehicle into a Trump voter registration tent in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2020.

well, the dude in cuffs initiated the confrontation, therefore he is the attacker, he is in the wrong, and he will be facing charges, not the guy in the wheelchair defending himself. if you're going to carry a knife and a paintball gun, and you pull it out in public without somebody attacking you, then you can be shot with a real gun, legally, to defend themselves. if you're going to carry a gun, make sure it's a real one with real bullets, and the only time it should be seen is when it's being fired.💕
