Amanda Hickey was given a 35 year prison sentence. 30 years to be spent in confinement, 5 years probation, when she's released, she is not to take care of anyone under the age of 13 and she is not to profit from these crimes she committed. Let me just also mention that she wasn't just convicted of killing the 4 month old by leaving him on his belly amd unattended for more than 2 hours but they also found evidence of child abuse in 6 other children.
This why I moved back to GA to take care of my grandsons because I will scorch the earth behind mine.
if she was black! she would've been able to leave the daycare center until a full investigation was completed and cleared her of no "WRONG DOING"

I remember this entire story. She did cause that babies death. Never heard what became of it. Her daycare license was revoked.
Single parents are running out of options. We need a Boy's and Girl's Club in every town. Daycare is a necessity for people who can't stay home. Parents deserve a safe and positive place to take their kids while they go to work. The BGClub was open 24 hours in my town. They really need to bring them back.

I see a lot of ppl say "grandparents" After I had my first I went back to both jobs. My first child care I did it for 13yrs my baby got to go with me different rooms. My second job night shift lead fastfood, I couldn't beg my mother to watch her while I worked. So I had to pay $90 a night for my baby to be watched while I worked. Grandparents are not always an option.
That’s why you raise your own kids and not give the responsibility to others and before people freak out and say we have to work it cost way more to put a child or children in day care and your not left with much of a paycheck after paying

And this is what grandparents are for..to help their children with the babies. Grandparents love spending time with them and it is very good for the children to be around them. However, we need parents to step up and be responsible. Grandparents are there to spoil and love on their grandbabies. Parents are to parent, not have grandparents raise another child.

This is why I quit working after I had my kids ,and I watched my 2 best friend’s kids along with mine every weekday for like 6 years, until they all were all old enough to be in school- 6 kids total all at once. Those kids are still like family to us to this day. Now my kids are 16 & 11, I work part time evenings and hubby works days. Still During the day I watch that same best friend’s 2 nieces, and have since they were infants, and just adore them. Not all babysitters are bad, I love the kids that I watched like they are my own blood. You really have to be a special kind of evil to hurt a defenseless innocent baby.

I cleaned homes WITH my baby -she never was placed in a daycare! It was sometimes difficult but I couldn’t trust them. She’s 43. I’m now a physician. Everything in its time.
I never did daycare. As a single mom I hired a nanny who was like another mother who was young enough to take them to the park walk them around the neighborhood cook healthy meals and love them and now they go to her house and family one day at christmas and my now husband and I come too (we are best friends) and my house for xmas eve. We do all holidays etc. After 12 years and $22k she became legal bought a beautiful home by the beach and has a house cleaning service. The American dream. All of her 3 kids are college educated and mine are still in was/medical schools. Daycare is a last resort for most.
This is why i don't trust daycares anymore . I will watch my grandkids .🥰

I was blessed to be able to stay home with my kids until each son was 3 years old. They’re five years apart in age. When my youngest was 3, I was able to work at the preschool I enrolled him in, but not be his teacher, but my classroom was right next door. I know not everyone is able to do what I did, and as I said I was blessed to be able to do so. My Condolences to the family in this video.
