I parked in someone else's driveway and fell asleep. I thought it was mine. it was my 3rd 16hr shift. My bag had nursing print all over it and i had my scrubs on. The lady that owned the house let me sleep. I woke up to a note on my window telling me to come on in and have a good meal. I was welcome to a good shower and clean scrubs if I had to go back to work. she was a retired nurse β€οΈ. She was a wonderful lady. I made a great friend that day. She passed a few years later, but never forgotten. π
In general a 12 hr shift is brutal as a nurse or health care worker. Hats off to every health care worker. ππΌπΈ

I agree, no reason for 12 or 16 hour shifts! Dangerous for the patient care, the drive home, they try to be super man or woman, but they have their limits. I appreciate every health worker that has taken care of me!!!

I used to work 12 hour shifts on the weekends.. Worked 3 twelve's and got paid for 40 hrs and then have the rest of the week off.
Nurses are sooo underrated!! But, pls know you are π₯°!
This is why I always tell my nurses their doing angel work and they do not get paid enough for what they do π₯Ίπ₯°
happen to me 12 hours shifts 7 days a week for 2 consecutive years you loose notion of thw days time and places sometimes
That can be rough. My wife was arrested for suspicion of dui. She had basically worked two days of 14 hours each and wasnβt able to sleep the night in between. Luckily she didnβt get dui but but did get a hefty ticket. No sleep is no joke.

12s are not that hard. I haul heavy equipment to jobs all day. 12 hour shifts are normal and im driving, throwing chains and tightening them down all day. I do 65-70 a week no problem.

She shouldn't be driving home like that, that is if she drove. She could get someone or herself killed. Long work hours are not a legal excuse or defense in court. This may be a skit, but there are people out there driving in these conditions.
