Dementia is such a horrible disease. Vibrant, strong, successful, caring,smart people are robbed of all they are or did. It breaks my heart for them it's so cruel. Thank God for the Angels on earth that care and help. All who have dementia should wear an ID bracelet or dog tag with their info, it allows for safe return and keeps anxiety from taking over. God please watch over and protect them all.

Years ago, I found an elderly man waiting in the Mississippi river at a boat ramp at Quincy Illinois. He was obviously confused but willing, and to have me help him out. He was well dressed and appeared to be well. Taken care of this very confused he did not have any obvious ID. I am not. I contacted the police and they found where he had wandered from

My dad with dementia that was living with me would sneak out of the house and start walking down the street and anybody that had their garage open he would go in and look at all their stuff in their garage and then walk out and then go to the next house at left their garage open and sometimes the neighbors would bring him home. I had a friend come over and he was out there doing the garage thing and she saw him walking and recognized him and she pulled up and said Do you have a daughter named so-and-so are you lost and it says I don't know so she says I know where you live so she took him by his hand and he walked him quite a few maybe 10 houses away from me back to our house. I was almost thinking about getting a picture of him with a sign saying If you see me out I'm lots bring me home but I never did get to it before he passed

Something the similar happened at my house. Poor guy just took off walking. Got him back home. So scary for the family. I was so happy we spotted him walking and had heard out neighbors had a dementia patient at home. Gave him a piggy back ride home. 🙂

That had something to do with the way that lady was raised, as you can see that she lives in a very affluent community where segregation plays a intricate part in the everyday lives of the inhabitants; but for reasons unknown she was different from the status quo.

My grandpa did this but around 3am a couple times. He walked to a neighbor's house, but they lived in the country so it was quite a walk & he had crossed the street too. Thankfully they knew him & took him home. He had Lewie's Body dementia. 🥺🥺
