i used to have a solid wood front door with just a small speakeasy-style peep window i could swing open/shut quickly. i had a great time acting the odd shut-in using it. i looked forward to someone ringing so i could flip it open and act gruff. by the time i learned how awesome that door was, i only got to use it like it was meant to a few times... but memorable.

I hate solicitors who won't take "no thank you" for an answer. The worst ones I have come across are the window replacement companies. I try to stay nice even till the bitter end. It comes down to me finally saying, "Listen, I know you have been trained to not take no as an answer, but I am trying to be as nice as possible to tell you I am not interested. So please, don't make me have to be rude. I know you are just doing your job, but I am not interested."
