when I was a kid I would jump roof to roof on top of tall buildings, climb ridiculous trees, rode dirt bikes, swung on and off a swing 20ft above ocean. roman candle fights, an occasional fist fight, broke my left wrist twice and they can't film a kid turn and run up a ladder.

The reason he has a stunt double is bc he’s a child and a serious liability if he falls. They are REQUIRED to do this. People genuinely are slow not reading into it for 3 seconds
It wasn’t for running it was for the ladder because in the case that the ladder accidentally faller Derek would be injured so they would have to call off filming so that’s why they had two stunt doubles because he was only allowed also for five hours of filming

Halfway through season 1 I knew the show was gonna be shite
and acting children under the age of 18 are not allowed to do stunts that are even remotely dangerous and can cause harm in any type of way so this isn't because he needed to run this is because it's legally not allowed
it wasn't because he wasn't able to do it. it was because of laws put in place to keep children actors safe. one of them having to do with ladders I believe
