You wouldn't believe how many people use dead relatives' handicapped hang tags because they are too lazy to walk across a parking lot. I know 1st hand that this happens routinely. Or, grandma is now bedbound, so granddaughter uses the hang tag for her personal use. No way to police it. My husband has a legit handicapped tag for himself, and I would not use it for myself under ABY circumstances. My mother always taught me to be grateful that I CAN walk.
A licensed physician needs to complete an application for a handicap placard or license plate. It can be temporary or permanent. I don’t know of too many physicians that would falsely sign an application and file it with the State. She has no idea what is required to get a placard. This lady is doing what others do all the time.

After surgery I was very slow walking for over 6 months, but that was not sufficient to get a placard. I really wish I could have had one during that time, but because people like her don't think other people have needs, ai was blocked.
