I disciplined my son once and he called the police on me. The police told him I had every right to do what I did and if son does it again the police officer would met out that same discipline to my son himself. Told my son to straighten up.

This is what the schools tell the kids. It is sad that many parents are afraid to discipline their children because they are afraid of having the police or child services called.
There's a huge difference between discipline and abuse. When I was in elementary school the principal was allowed to paddle unruly students and parents wouldn't have dreamed of complaining.

Told my son in the grocery store that if he didn’t stop acting up I was going to spank him. After speaking 4 or 5 times I grabbed him and paddled his butt. The guy behind me, a cop in uniform, said he wondered if I was going to act on the threat 🤣. He just walked on by 😆.

The point wasn't to advocate for child abuse. It was to scare the sense into the kid that discipline is not abuse. He obviously thought he was in charge and at that age, he needs to know he's not and to learn respect. I'm appauled at some of the reasons kids are taken into foster care for discipline or leaving them in a car unattended when it's not hot out. Every Boomer would have been in jail. The bigger issue is lack of consitancy in teaching discipline and lack of parenting classes. Why only require them, when you are going through a divorce? Maybe, instead of saying there's no book on parenting, just maybe someone makes classes for every stage, baby, toddler, kid, pre-teen and teen. Not religious, just hey don't do this, or you'll end up in jail or this will harm your child or this is what to expect, here are some ways to deal with it. Not "Here's your baby, good luck!"
This action will eventually avoid the kid from greater harm when he’s an adult! Kids need to learn that there’s consequences for their actions. Parents need to explain to their kids that by punishing them it’s called educating them about consequences for their actions. It’s not child abuse, it’s education!
I agree with the message however there are other ways to discipline a child without a weapon. I never was but when I got in trouble I had things taking away from me and had extra chores to do etc and I was always afraid of my mom.
I believe “gentle parenting” has ruined the younger generation. To me lack of discipline is laziness in parenting!!
you can thank the liberal education system, when I grew up teachers could hit students i witnessed this with my eyes, what's needed is for parents to discipline the kids not be afraid to because of the liberals
when mine got in his teen he told me he was gonna call the police. I told him you better call an ambulance also cause you're gonna need one....
I grew up just fine. And I was whipped with a switch on the legs on the back and if I cried I got turned out fine. I've never did anything wrong. So these kids nowadays they will tell you. Of course, I'll call the cops on you. If I had done that my mom wouldn't whatever whipped me more

kids also call the cops and lie on their parents and tell them that they beat them when they didn't,and the parents go to jail on a bunch of lies. I've seen that for myself. and of course they're going to believe the child. This world is so messed up. I wonder if it'll ever get straightened up.
