in Michigan we have a move over law. Sadly , all the drivers are tailgating, which makes it harder to move over in emergency situations.

In CA if a tow truck driver, AAA service or other roadside service needs to service a vehicle on a busy freeway they can call Highway Patrol to help get the vehicle off to the side of the road or block traffic in that area to prevent injuries to the service provider.

I had the same issue. Only difference is. I had 2 state troopers behind me, watching me change a tire on a semi. Doing roadside assistance? I had a econome van swerve, exactly the same way as this car did barely missing the back of the semi. Trailer and almost hitting me. I had to throw myself under the trailer to get out of the way hand up running over my tools and my big impact that goes to the service truck. And then he ran from the police come to find out the man was on drugs. They arrested him on the spot after they found him 2 miles down the road, wrecked into somebody else. But they got him, they took him to prison
that should be attempted murder trying to pass on the shoulder is never safe
In my home town a tow truck driver was ran over now they entrap drivers with decoys trucks and give tickets Muskogee Oklahoma for anyone that feels they need to investigate

Yeah, people are stupid. They need to move over but no, he’s not attempting to change a tire. He’s attempting to tow it. That is the second part of what they use to tow vehicles. Kind of like a tow dolly
