😳 She’s lucky & probably is a chosen one cause they have the word killer as part of their name for a reason, killer whales always kill every meal, that’s how they survive.
nothing safer to be around. once they sink your boat lol. but once in the water, they protect us. minus SeaWorld. i used to watch the orcas growing up around Kodiak and they'd look right at us. crazy

Orcas are my absolute favorite animal ever. I’ve loved them since I was in elementary school (in the 80s). I had orca posters, statues, pillows and eventually an Orca phone when I was eventually old enough to be allowed to have a phone in my bedroom. I even read books about them and learned there are residents and transients, and the transients are the ones who lately have been seen ripping livers out of great white sharks. Residents tend to hang in the same bays and coastal areas are act more like dolphins in their curiosity of humans, boats, paddle boards, etc. My dream as a teen was to go on a cruise to see Orcas in the wild and someday I still hope to. They are gorgeous, magnificent, extremely intelligent and simply wonderful. An encounter like this woman had would’ve been the ultimate experience for me, as I’m sure it was for her, whether she loved orcas or just knew what they were. What a lucky woman.
