We don’t use this technique at all. If someone says they can’t breathe we aren’t going to do anything to assist with that matter. Regardless if it’s taught or not if someone says they can’t breathe we aren’t allowed to assist the problem. Asking why he can’t breathe and assessing the situation is what we are trained to do and when ANY OFFICER regardless of race forgets that it either ends up with a civilian death or death of an officer.

What watched the Eric Garner situation happen live. I was on my way to the Staten Island ferry when I happened to see that whole situation go down. It was very similar to this case. Eric wasn’t overdosing and was breathing fine before the cop but his knee and whole weight down on him. It was one of the worst and saddest things I’ve ever seen. In my humble opinion, what the cop did was brute force and caused that man too die. I highly disagree with Charlie on this debate. It’s absolutely disgusting to see men die/killed by people who are suppose to protect us. RIP
