I think before a fence permit is issued it should be mandatory to have it surveyed
My father bought 75 acres in central Oregon many years ago. He always surveyed the property before purchasing. He found out the road to the houses was 30 feet on his side of the property line. After purchasing the property he moved the road to easement and every one lost 30 feet but he gained 30for a quarter mile. To somewhat smooth over things he put in a new gravel road. He was open and honest with everyone and kept good communication open so there were no law suits.
I've seen people have to move a fence over because it was 4 inches over no wider than a fence post over.
I mean everyone else would have used a sawsall. but chainsaw works i guess. them 2×4s gonna pop the chain

Other people will move property pins (usually after someone dies or after a neighbor moves away) and you will need to hire a surveyor and pay big bucks just to prove it's your land.

Hire a land surveyor. Determine the property line and take them to court. When you win, make them pay for the survey services and have the fence removed.
How silly. All that work to what? Prove a point. What difference does it make? How far over the property line are they, if you say a foot, damn, SMH
Oh boy you sure going to love me after this! If I was the neighbor I would become a nightmare neighbor. The next fence going up will have messages and disturbing drawings on their side for them to see forever. Everything I do in life will be consumed in hateful actions towards that neighbor. All with in the parameters of the law. Just enough to make their lives miserable. That’s the person I am!

I had a neighbor put a gate to my field! He put it there so his goats could get in. It was great! Because it was a pain to maintain the 2 acres since I'm disabled. He got his goats fed and I got my field cleared !!!

I do this for a living and if you would just get in touch with zoning authorities and the responsible company they will work with both homeowners. Taking down the fence and reinstalling it properly. In this video he is sawing fence panel supports in which they are trash now unless you restructure the panel. Now the first homeowner is gonna rebuild the fence and be double the price bc the other homeowner wanted to be petty, and I’m not too sure how it works but one job dudes wife sued their neighbor for destruction of property bc we were finished and they paid the price of replacement and new installation. You’re an adult act like it and be civil, crybabies deserve to be in cribs.
My neighbor's garage is technically on our property by about a foot. Our property and both neighbors on either side used to all be part of a family owned a chicken farm. When the family eventually closes the farm and divided up the property into lots. Apparently it was surveyed wrong, and it's just been like that since. No one that has owned the property since then has cared, including us. We actually only found out about it a few years ago when that neighbor had the house appraised. The man who owns it and lives there let's my son and his friends use his yard to play baseball bc ours is not flat and has trees. His yard is perfect for a baseball game. Our other neighbors are a blessing also, and I am so grateful for them!💕

I would start sending them storage fees each month with a note at the bottom that says every month the fence is up, they agree to pay the fee. If they refuse to pay, put a lien against their house every month until they do pay it.
