I'm a minister and what he did was very rude that's their special day and I would have encouraged every minute to be recorded.. yes I would ask for my money back as well.
Three minister in my family....all perform marriages/weddings. The couple, parents of bride and groom and photographers themselves.....are told well before hand that there will be no photographs,videos and guests taking pictures during the ceremony. You are sanctifying your vowels before God in His house and it's not a party.

Very rude. The couple paid both photographer and the clergy to be there.
Rules should be established prior to the ceremony. There is no need to upset anyone and create awkwardness among all.
I would imagine the couple should be the ones making that decision

My pastor informed the photographer before the service. Photographer understood the assignment. During the vowels, there was no consistent flashing. We had one photo of us during the vowels. Camera started again after being pronounced husband and wife as we turned around and faced the congregation. Lots more pictures.

Photographer doesn’t care he’s still gonna get paid his money. If the minister had an issue with photography, he might’ve mentioned that before the ceremony took place.
He's making to it too much about himself in the name of God. He fully knows how important wedding pictures are. That was totally unnecessary. Put the word out. He won't officiate another wedding.

No matter who’s correct, he ruined the atmosphere of the wedding with his admonishment and you can tell by the bride and groom’s face. They were astonished. You don’t get that feeling of joy back quickly after witnessing that tongue-lashing.
I’m sorry but it’s there wedding… it’s not about God it’s about bringing two people together under God’s eye.👁️ and the vowels you take under God eyes. I think that guy was a little narcissistic and controlling . That would’ve pissed me off had that been my wedding and he caused a scene like that in the middle of my vowels. That would really piss me off.!!!
If you want a religious ceremony for your wedding then you need to understand the minister/priest is in charge of the ceremony. If the bride and groom want photographers to intrude on the ceremony then they should be married by a justice of the peace or any other non religious person. I understand this is their special day, but they need to understand if they want a religious ceremony it is not the place for photos behind the minister. The priest/minister should have made that clear before the ceremony.
I’ve never been at a wedding where photographs were not allowed during the ceremony. This minister seems like the odd one out, at least in my experience.

a lot of people take pictured during the ceremony. If the rule is not to take pictures then priest should of told them before the ceremony. Should of let them know when they took classes if they had to or when they book the date

There’s a difference between a religious person and a person who walks in the court get a license to marry couples… imagine if they were at a church I believe those guys would have went on the alter to capture photos
