No actually most state laws required that to show ID regardless of your age you could practically come in there on a walker three weeks from dying at 104 years old and it was still asked for your ID because when they sell certain products you have to scan that ID on the scanner to allow that product to be sold. and yes, there is a bypass for many of these systems but if you ever bypass you could get in trouble by your store manager

Different stores, Different policies. The Walmart i used to work at, did the same. When I first started as a cashier, we only had to card those that looked younger than 40. After being busted twice, they changed it to carding EVERYONE. No matter if you're 103 years old. As I told my customers who argued, You know you're old enough, I know you're old enough, but I'm not losing my job because you dont want to show/have your I.D. on you.
A lot of places won’t even let the transaction go through unless ID is scanned I’m sure he knows she’s old enough sometimes it won’t let you though and they have to have a card to scan
im not a cop but you can actually work with temp agencies and they will send you into the stores to do this, you dont got to be a cop just a person with a license lol

There are cops that go around checking to make sure staff are ID when supposed to! They do it at any establishment that sells anything that requires you to show proof of ID! It’s how a lot of bars get big fines or shutdown/out of business.
Sorry, doesn’t matter how old you are you have to show ID that is the store policy. My coworker actually served somebody she thought was in their late 40s got busted and got a $475 fine could’ve been avoided if she would have ID him!🙏🏼
