I'd call my bestie, turn off my cell, have dinner at a fancy restaurant, call in sick to work for the next day, buy some small toiletries and a set of pj's, a new outfit, and clean underwear, and stay at a nice hotel. I'd book a massage, and rent a movie. I'd have a buffet in the morning, and then, I'd finally turn on my phone and call home. I wouldn't bother reading text messages or listening to voicemail. I would simply ask my spouse if his night was as nice as mine, and if he was ready to act like an adult and let me in. If not, I'm perfectly happy to spend another night away, but maybe I might go out of town this time. And perhaps I'd bring someone along with me.
