Am I correct in understanding that this boat 🛥️ hit an orca 🐳 with its propeller & he hadta be told from an onlooker(other boater 🛥️ ) to turn off the motor/engine after he hit it 🐳?! when someone goes overboard- you cut off the engine. the orcas were trying to tip the boat. ironically, they stopped because a human fell off the boat- or- the engine was cutoff. I wonder if orcas have associated boats with humans- yet. if not, they will soon. what they HAVE associated is the correlation between boats and the decline of their natural habitat. also, the trainer that was killed at SeaWorld- that was a personal vendetta between her and that particular orcas. Wild Orca dont go out of their way to hurt humans, they actually kind of like us. that is, until they realize we are the ones operating the boats...

The whale was turning the boat over and made a passenger fall out. Yes, they should have shut the motor off fast but in a situation that happens so quick like that, most people aren't thinking clearly. They were scared and didn't know what to do.

The crux of the matter is that too many people get to close to whales, dolphins etc and there lies the problem. There is a certain distance to keep,that is the law when it comes to ocean safety to keep mammals and humans safe. Don’t get close with the boats, if they are getting close drive the boat away from them after all they’re not soft cuddly little house pets they’re large mammals that interacting with them can get you killed or injured.

what's happening is they didn't hit the Orca they have been attacking boats though because other workers have been hit in the past.. I think I read somewhere it's a couple males that are going around destroying boats trying to protect the rest of them..

Honestly, I'm more worried about the orca! More & more of us are jumping into the middle of the orca's home!! Man is just greedy for his lazy past times & doesn't care if we mame or kill those creatures who call Earth home. How would you feel if an orca jumped into your living room whenever it wanted to!!
Boater should be fined and banned from coastal waters. Poor judgement and terrible boater. You never approach a whale or pod and if you have inadvertently, cut your motor & drift till they leave. This guy needs a lesson.

The operator of the vessel is the reason instructions are on shampoo bottles. I thought most jurisdictions required operators to pass a basic test in order to operate a motorized boat. This training always puts the highest priority on "Man overboard" condition yet no one on board seemed remotely concerned even after being notified... yet the few comments I saw reflect concern only with some whale ? Wow.
