I used to work at a local Supermarket and there was an elderly couple that's been doing their shopping at that Supermarket for decades. Anyway, we became friends and they always called me grandson and quite often they would bring me a dinner plate or any pastries that granny baked. I hadn't seen them for a few months until one day she came in by herself and asked the front desk if I was working that day and if they could page me to come to the Customer Service desk. When I saw her she hugged me really tight for what seemed like an hour. She told me that Pops had been summoned by The Big Guy Upstairs as he used to call God. Anyway, she gave me a manilla envelope and a small box, and asked me to please take it cause he said it was a birthday gift from both and for me to open them when I got home. Let's just say that tears immediately filled my eyes and face. I still see her from time to time. . They were both very well known in town and by the older employees.

I used to work at Hardee’s and I got to be fairly close to a lot of my elderly customers. Some of them recognized me years later after I was no longer working at Hardee’s when they’d see me at Walmart it made my heart feel good to know that I made a good impression to them.
i worked waffle house for 2 years. you do end up caring for these seniors that come in everyday. they are always charming and we love them
