Sadly this is a fairly common occurrence we see here among Senior citizens in Florida. Most of them learned to drive on a stick transmission therefore became accustomed to driving with right foot on gas & left foot on either brake or clutch. Despite car being Auto, old habits are hard to break ( no pun intended )

Remined me of my grand mother. She had 10 children and worked hard her whole life raising kids, grandkids, tending a masive garden and canned all her own food, cut material to make her own and her families clothes. She drove into her late 80s but got to where she drove down the middle of the road and stayed there. She lived out in the country and all those who lived out her way knew it was her by her car and the fact she drove down the middle of the road. She finally had to quit driving and was confined to a home in her 90s. She lived to a few short days of becoming 103. Her husband died of a heart attack before I ever went to school. She was was tough as nails her while life up until she died 20+ years ago. She was widowed most of her life and all but a few of mine. I'm 67 years old. She never caused an accident that I know of in all the years I can rember being alive.
