The first time you are involved in a shooting, it is very emotional. Then, when you realize that you're still alive, and you did what had to be done. Don't judge this office unless you have been in his shoes.
My brother is a cop. I pray everyday that he doesn’t have to make this choice. And that he goes home safe to his family everyday. I can’t imagine what he’s seen and been through.
in this world it's always good versus evil. comments on here that are from people negative towards police you don't have the heart to walk in their shoes or to even take the initiative to become a cop or serve the country. I did a lot of time in prison but it was my bad choices. and yes, there are some bad cops but there are really good cops and when comes for them to decide to be a cop they want to do good for the people and serve the community but some cops get caught up in the political crap and the good old boys syndrome and they change. some cops don't get caught up in it. I met some pretty good cops and I have met some bad ones, but as I look back on it most are just trying to make it home each day. the bottom line is use your head and don't get in trouble and you won't have to deal with any cops
My husband is former K9 and Swat. For several years after he was out he would twitch and yell in his sleep. Some of the flashbacks can be unbearable. He has seen ALOT of terrible things , suicides being some of the worst. Brain matter on the wall, half their face missing sometimes, it’s brutal. And then there is the emotional aspect of dealing with families overcome with grief. These negative comments almost ALWAYS come from people that would NEVER have the guts to put their lives in harm’s way for a stranger.. and I’d bet money they have been in trouble with the law prob multiple times. That’s the tell. It’s usually BAD people who hate cops.And yet who would they call of their life was in danger???
Good cops have to shoot sometimes. NO one rarely ever shows the cop handles it. This guy probably went home and cried his eyes out for what he did.

I served in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan and I know what it feels like to take another humans life, even if he’s trying to take yours and your teammates. Unfortunately, you don’t get the time to process these events until later at home. Caused me 13 years of drinking, 5 inpatient treatments and three outpatient treatments. I finally got involved in an experimental PTSD treatment program that I was finally able to get sober again. Today I live one day at a time, not drinking and not blaming myself for the things I did and saw. Combat and Law Enforcement tests your values and morals.

Taking a life is one of the most traumatic things a cop will ever do. I hope the cop gets the proper counseling.

Son had to shoot a man who was drug impaired and pointing a gun at a group of school children. Justified shoot, also suspect then pointed gun at my son. Still a difficult time for him. Not like on the TV shows. Mother of a cop 💙💙💙💙

my nephew joined State Highway Patrol and ended up resigning due to being first responder on too many children being abused and/or murdered. He is now a top car salesman. Has PTSD and goes to counseling.
AND THEY SAY THESE HEROES ENJOY BEING BRUTAL. GOD BLESS THIS OFFICER, HE DID HIS JOB, AND WILL FOREVER REMEMBER THIS DAY AS ONE OF HIS WORST. I CAN SAY THIS BECAUSE MY FATHER WAS A POLICEMAN AND MORE THAN ONCE HE WOULD COME HOME, SIT AT KITCHEN TABLE WITH HIS HEAD IN HIS HANDS AND ON OCCASION CRY HIS EYES OUT FROM HORRORS HE WITNESSED, AND OTHERS HE HAD TO PARTISAPATE IN. I worked with the police for 16 yrs. No one realizes the amount of stress these men and women go through. They don’t EVER want to have to fire their weapons. They don’t want to have to take a life. They want to work their shift protect life and property and go home to their families at the end of their day. Sometimes they get dealt a hand that can’t be played any other way. It has cost officers their sanity their peace sleep how they interact with those around them and sometimes their own life. The training can teach the actions but it can’t train the heart and the mind. God bless you LEOs. May you never have to fire your gun anywhere other than the range.

my son is an officer, this is his passion and he loves what he does, but seeing someone dead is a pill I will never want to swallow, especially if it's done by my hand. If you are a human being with love, it hurts.

The normal reaction when cops unalive a civilian, commit a crime, trample on every single right of our 1st amendment,2nd amendment,4th amendment,5th amendment,8th amendment,lose millions of dollars in court and still keep their job.Officer safety is paramount.Humanity is a hero if Americans train their own. L.E.Os. are trained by Zionist rulers of the American people. The one that holds the federal reserve has the power and control. Remember 1913. Police show up 2% of the time while a crime is in progress. L.E.Os., unalive 3-5 civilians every single day. The government doesn't keep a record. Around 85 officers a year, on average, meet their end, more than half of them parish in car accidents, followed by heart attacks, then suiside,and finally, violance, so around 8-10 yearly on average.Our founding fathers stressed civic duty, and we have left it all up to the so called heros and their crys for public safety.Those who choose safty over liberty deserve neither.
