I’m a teacher in high school and I love doing this shit when I know they’re on their phone and they’re not supposed to be. I play with them. I know that that’s looks bad for a second but honestly messing with them brings me joy and I know that’s fucked up But it is

As a retired teacher, I can not condone what this teacher is doing because it is taking instrucion time away from the rest of the class. The rest of the class has now been given carte blanche to take their phones out to record this waste of time, meaning nobody is learning anything!My policy (I left right around the time we were allowed to take phones away at the beginning of class) was if you were too busy to pay attention to the instruction happening on the classroom, or if you fell asleep in class, you were not permitted to get the assignments from anyone in the class or anyone that had me as a teacher that year. Nor would you be allowed an extension or extra credit to offset the mandatory 50% the county MADE us give every student who missed an assignment (stupidest rule EVER!!!!).NOT surprisingly, I had VERY few issues with cell phone usage in my classes after the first couple of weeks.

years ago when teachers could discipline ( late 60's 70') a kid in my class fell asleep. The teacher picked up a thick book and slammed it next to his head ! He jumped as high as he could in his seat.
this is why the kids should not be able to have a phone in school at all end of story this is why most of the kids in this country today are illiterate they think they're smart because they got their s*** together they think but they're illiterate
That is invasion of privacy. He should have just told him to get off his phone. No one realized what the teacher was really doing. He could’ve been texting with his mom or dad about something that was personal family business
Once phones were in every student's hands, learning stopped. As a teacher, I'd take it, and admin gave it back immediately. The reason? Parents may call with an emergency.

a teacher did this to me one time (i wasnt on my phone) i was doing an open book test anyway he was seeing if i was cheating (i wasnt) he got damn near my face and he got a mean hook to the jaw. lesson for him was dont get in peoples faces especially those that arent doing anything but minding their own business. my parents werent even mad because he chose not to get out of my face.

School is to learn not to be lost in your phone with the media and social BS. I let my boys take their phone to school but I let them know I own their phone and I can see the texts and the calls they make during the day so if it during class time phone is gone or I shut them down it's that easy.
