During the pursuit, he pulled a gun, and the officer dropped him. The gun dropped when he dropped. He got up after being shot and scaled a wall, and kept running. The officer notified the others about Hayden's path of flight while he stayed with the 40 cal that Hayden dropped. They found Hayden not too long after, with some holes in him. He was armed and dangerous. He was not that innocent. Do the research people, that's how you gain knowledge.
