In the vacuum of space, any opening that leads to the outside would cause a rapid loss of air pressure from the space station. Without the use of specialized equipment like robotic arms, remote control mechanisms, or airlocks, it would be impossible to manipulate a lid on the exterior of a space station manually without compromising the integrity of the station’s internal atmosphere. ✋🎤
