because we were tough as nails at 10 years old , grown at 16.And we knew who we were and were proud of it. And we picked on each other just for fun to toughen each other up. And if you pissed us off we'd kick your ass!

They absolutely did learn from us boomers. We weren't allowed in the house at all, drank from a hose if we were thirsty, rode our bikes to the pool in the next town over & hung out with our friends playing kick the can or softball in the street until the just before the street lights came on. Our patents had no clue where we were until we got home. Most of the parents in the hood knew each other & if we weren't in the streets, we'd be at our friends house. in the winter we'd put on old tennis shoes & hold on to the back of bikes or a car & get pulled down the street. Ski jogging is what we called it. 🤣 It was great to be a kid back then.

We were raised on water from the hose and no Internet. We actually went outside and did stuff. We were never bored and we learned to be tough. When the shit hits the fan we will survive. Gen Z on the other hand will be dead 48 hours after the Internet goes down.

Ha ha, boomers toys had wires that poked out and heated irons to write on wood and plastic goop that heated for spiders, worms and troll heads. Glass balls that klacked together on a thick string and shattered after several smashing klacks. Children's jewerly and cars painted with lead paint, all the better to stick in your mouth. No helmets and no car seats. Babies were in a plastic carrier, like the type in the sink for dishes and set on the floor in the car. Even more fun if you could get in the back of a pick up for a ride to the local store. Fireworks with cherry bombs that might blow off a finger but hopefully just the head of someone's Barbie.

Because, we were TOUGH…..we had chores and we worked HARD. Boys were boys and girls were girls…..neither had a single thought of pretending to be the opposite! NONE of us were EVER confused about which restroom to use. Our parents loved us deeply…. but, they would whip our ass if we were disobedient OR disrespectful. Our parents never raised us to be pussies! I could go on for DAYS…. we are NOT the same!

they learned through their parents who are the ones that brought them into the world that's where we all tried to kill ourselves first on all kinds of rides at the playground and slaves and discs and everything they had to learn it themselves we did it first thank us baby boomers for teaching their kids how to be nuts

How did Boomers survive? We rode our bikes without knee, elbow pads and helmets. We grew up without seatbelts and car seats. Our convertible was the bed of a pickup truck. We were the test subjects for the polio vaccines. We actually said the Pledge of Allegiance at school. Political correctness was unknown yet we(most of us) got along with everybody. Sir and Mam were required when speaking to any adult. We drank from the water hose in the summer because coming inside was the bathroom break. We were allowed to fail, encouraged to do it until we got it right.

right getting up on Saturday morning watching Saturday morning cartoons and then leaving the house until the street lights come on and never once checking in I don't know how we survived there was no helmets for the bicycles that we would put the ramps at the bottom of the hill and jump all that good s*** I miss it wish I was still growing up back then

In the 60’s & up my dad pulled us behind our VW bug, then an F-150. We made a track from the house, down the hill towards the lake with a huge curl at the end. My long leg cast and i went, hit that curl, popped out and over it, hitting the ice on the lake. Uhh oh…

Because our Parents didn’t let us sit in the house all day. We had to get outside and make shit happen!! I was living in Hawaii in the 80’s and would meet up with friends and we would ride our skateboards all over the island. Just had to be home for dinner..

GUESS WHO ?

Because if we got hurt, we better be on the edge of death because our parents would yell at us for having to spend money and missing work for nothing so we just never said anything when we got hurt we just walked it off. That's why we are always angry now. We just legitimately hurt.

We drank, water from the garden hose, played outside daily, respected our elders, listened to real artists, ( Wu-Tang, BIGGIE, OZZY, G&R, AC/DC, PANTERA, Sadie, SWV, Goodie MOB, Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, etc.) We had franks & beans, mac & cheese from a box 😆, Tang, Kool-Aid & Dad's who whooped ass and moms with cutting boards for cooking and correction. We watched Goonies, E.T., Predator, Nightmare on Elm Street & "Yippe, Kyee"- Die Hard, Pulp Fiction & Body Guard. We never bought something new without at least trying to fix it. Homemade meals and a terrifying fear of getting home after the street lights came on!!!!!

They also lived in the most prosperous time and knew they wouldnt have to worry about getting a job or buying a house, college wasnt mandatory to make a decent wage, and robots werent about to take over all jobs. that said I'm just fucking around. as a millennial, I experienced the first switch to ultra weakness where feminine virtues were extolled as the greatest achievement for men and technology dominated our lives l and the advent of the internet and associated ultra gore everywhere gave us PTSD. At least I still got to play outside. I don't think Gen Alpha does at all. My friends and I played Lord of The Rings in the woods, caught and killed snakes while swimming in the creek, did a lot on the trampoline, also got to play Halo and CoD a lot. We did a lot outside, but the unregulated internet fucked us up a lot, imo

Omg I miss these old days. Schools closed for snow, everyone was grabbing their sleds, metal disks and toboggans. I’m our neighborhood, we all also grabbed the hoses that were put inside the window wells, covered with foam to keep it from freezing and hoses down the steep hill outside our house. What a blast we had. All us kids would sled until we’ll past dark. Use to make airplanes with 8 sleds. Guaranteed someone was getting hurt. Tough days, even tougher kids. Loved loved loved my childhood.
