opposing the forward velocity but pushing his body back deletes some of that forward motion slowing him down drastically and allowing him to stabilize his forward motion after forcing his body backwards right as he hopped off pretty much equalizing the kinetic forces like a nerf gun shooting a dart at 15 mph drive a car 15 mph shoot the nerf gun opposite way and the dart will jus fall straight down be the forces equalized not letting the dart go any further than what it's maximum velocity can reach
