I will never own a pressure cooker when I was little my mom left collard greens cooking in one my sister who was 13 at the time opened it and it blew up collard greens everywhere on the ceiling I mean everywhere my sister was burned badly and she lives with the pressure cooker scares till this day she's 61 🤔

I know someone who had 3rd degree burns on 80% of their body because they did the same thing. ppl are not perfect they make mistakes. , maybe there was something else going on, and she wasn't thinking, and she forgot. Ppl are human and have accidents. Get off the gas calling her names until yall are perfect in every way .

i was once burned by a hot radiator. i cringed when i saw this. i know what hell shes paying. im feel very sorry for anyone and i do mean ANYONE.. who had to ever experience that. the skin on my upper arm was hanging off. to those that make jokes? i pray karma doesnt visit you by burns either.
First thing, you tip that little "jingler" AWAY FROM EVERYONE and let the steam come shooting out.....until it completely stops. Then wait a couple of minutes longer, say 3-5 minutes, then unlock the lid....ONLY UNLOCK THE LID AND GIVE IT A PARTIAL TWIST. Does it feel loose? If so, remove it. Does it feel like there's still a lot of pressure within the cooker? Make sure that you set it away from heat sources BEFORE totally removing that lid, especially if you think it's depressurized but if you've safely released steam via jingler, then totally removed jingler, then slowly loosen the lid safely after moving your pressure cooker off of the heat source for 3-5 minutes, you should be safe.
what's f***** up is yeah that probably burnt the s*** out of her but she did more harm to herself when she jumped back and then slipped she face planted on the floor real quick jumped up smiling though got to give her credit she's a trooper she took that face plant like a beast!
After watching this a few more times a little closer, I don't think she was opening it... Looks like she's just trying to move it but the lid wasn't on right and the slight movement built a little extra pressure and popped the lid off... she's so lucky the microwave was above it or that heavy ass lid could have hit her in the face! God keep your angels near this one for a while, cuz she could really use 'em right now!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I'm 74 yrs old and I never owned a pressure cooker, nor have I ever wanted one. I've seen friends not paying attention and they received the same results as this woman. This woman probably suffered 2nd or 3rd degree burns. I pray that she received help pronto! Smh! 🙏
To all of you that say, she was stupid for trying to open the pot. Take a closer look... Doesn't look like she was trying to open it. She was just moving the pot. The seal failed with catastrophic results. Just pray that she's OK 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I have seen and treated the blistering burns from that and it's just awful. They get infected no matter how careful you are cleaning it. I feel so very sorry for her, and she has a very long and painful recovery to endure. I won't have one of those pressure cookers in my house because of the injuries seen from them.

Most modern Pressure Cookers Lock and WON'T open until all steam and Pressure has been released. I have 1 electronic and 2 stove top and ALL lock and you CAN'T open it if you wanted to. Poor Baby now she probably won't ever trust another Pressure cooker. I hope she didn't get burned. All her delicious food 😋 destroyed. Oh well, lesson learned. Move forward 🥰🥰
I've had that happen to me before when I was 16yrs old I had first, second & third degree burns on my upper body but I healed from it but I will not be in a kitchen when one is being used ever again
How was she able to open it? My pressure cooker is sealed shut until it depressurizes. The pressure cooker shouldn't be able to be opened until the pressure is released.
I truly hope she is okay. She clearly got some nasty burns. Thankfully, the lid did not fly off, and neither did any other metal, that I can see anyway. The flying metal can actually take off limbs, take out eyes, chunks of flesh, etc. I don't see any blood, so it appears to have stayed in tact. But that poor girl's chest, stomach, arms, hands, upper legs (at least), and possibly face were all definitely burned with extremely hot liquid. I pray she has made a full and complete recovery, physically and just as important, if not more so imo, mentally.
Let that thing sit. Just turn it off and walk away. Go back after the topper stops letting steam out. Grief. That has to burn really bad. Prayers she is doing well.
Pressure cookers are like a bomb, why would she open it without checking it properly & making sure it's ready to open. She forgot or doesn't know how to use it
The only stupid person here is the one saying that she is stupid. No one is perfect except our lord Jesus Christ and our father in Heaven above. We all make mistakes daily. I just hope and pray that the Lord protected her body from the steam and everything that came out onto her body.
pressure cooker burns are some of the worst out there. I'm sure she suffered 2nd degree if not third. steam burns are bad and that went all over her front. I hope she got to a doctor fast.
I’ve had a pressure cooker for over 25 years and the one that I have won’t t let you open it until all the pressure is released. I’ve NEVER had an issue.
With pressure canning, you have to follow all the steps. It's a perfectly safe way to can if you follow all the steps. I've been canning for 40+ years. I hope she's OK, between the glass and steam she had to have been hurt.

Everyone in this comment section is soooooo perfect. They never had an accident or made a mistake. Wow it must be nice to be so perfect. A few years ago I was opening a package with a pocket knife and it slipped. Cut a huge gash in my hand and needed stitches, so I guess that means I'm dumb right? I guarantee I'll beat anyone in this comment section in a IQ test. Accidents happen. Next time you get hurt accidently just remember, you are now considered DUMB!!!

I was burned as a child by a pressure cooker and my father's arm was broken, trying to can string beans. never try to can sbeans in a pressure cooker. they build up gas and explode.
that's terrible. I almost had this happen to me when I was a kid. my grandmother walked in before I opened the pot and stopped me.
I have a pressure cooker, but the greatest thing about it is that it won't let anybody open it and stays locked until the pressure is released... I know some of the old ones do not have that feature but in my opinion, it should be a mandatory one.. especially if you have children .. other than that reading instructions is very important if you own one
Poor lady got burned badly. Hopefully, she recovers fast. This is no joke.I forgot the frying pan on the stove with oil, and I forgot it. It happened back in 1997. I smell smoke and panicked and grab the frying pan with a cloth and fire was in the frying pan and I ran to the back door open it and toss it out, the fire blew back all over my right arm. I went to the emergency room, and the nurse bandaged my whole right arm from my wrist to my elbow. The nurse looked at me and said it was a second-degree burn and I would have a scar. I went back 2 weeks to get it taken off, and my skin was as smooth as a baby's butt. The nurse was shocked 😲 and said I can't understand this. I thank the good Lord my skin was ok.
Oh my she got some horrific burns from that. I don’t use pressure cookers for just that reason. They are great but this happens to even veteran cooks !! Prays to her
My lid stays locked until the pressure is completely released so accidents like this cannot happen. I hope she recovers quickly.
Thank God for the range on top of the stove. This could have been worst. The lid could have popped up and killed her. Look at the force it generated that definitely range saved her life.
I was just burned by one cooking chicken for tamales on 470 degrees hot it opened on its own everything full force went all over my right side breast and arm nd middle of my stomach and I was just fixing the little steam valve I got 2nd nd 3rd degree burns I was admitted in the layola burn unit trauma center it’s painful I’m still recovering and going through therapy it’s a long recovery but it looks to me she actually opened it she had to have gotten bad burns
I am 50 now , when my mom was about 24 a pressure cooker blew up on her to this day you can see her scars on her feet , on each foot it looks like a sun ☀️ exactly like this emoji on each of her feet, even back in those days it happened. U have never used a pressure cooker just thinking of what could happen

My Mom used a pressure cooker for years. She warned us very seriously what could happen if we messed with it. I finally bought one when the " One- Pot" came out. I used it for slow cooking meals, but never used the pressure cooking settings. After hearing of several that were flawed, and people being hurt badly, I sold it. I already have a bunch of crock pots, and those pressure cookers are something I don't care to mess with. I feel so bad for this poor woman. I certainly hope she's ok. I don't care one way or another if it wAs her error! She's still a human being who was probably badly hurt.

Don't be mean, she didn't know how to use the pressure cooker she was trying to prepare a quick meal. Have you ever used or done something for a first tiime and had know idea what you were doing or what to expect. Stop it!
I used my grandmother's old pressure cooker and I went to move it off the burner and didn't know the seal had went bad and it exploded like that but it all went upwards not outward and it hit me in the face I had turned my head the same time so it got me from the middle of the face over to the whole side and ear I had partial thickness burns the whole side of my face and I never had such pain in my life. I won't even go into the kitchen when ones in use
Just thinking on all of the mechanics or regular ppl who open the cap on the radiator. Mistakes happens..to ppl who know better. Then there are does who dont..but learn. Hope her burns, fall, and nerves all are in tact.
My mother had an old HEAVY metal pressure cooker pot. First lesson she taught us was always let the pot rest about 15 minutes before releasing the pressure valve JUST A LITTLE to allow the slow release of pressure.
This poor woman this is VERY SERIOUS.. 2nd degree burns I’ve had on my hand and it was one of the worst, most painful experiences ever I’ve had! My hand swole into a giant blister and it was absolutely insane, draining it and going to get skin removed periodically until it healed. I can’t even imagine what this poor woman had to go through 😢I’m so sorry. My heart and prayers go out to this woman 🙏
It happened to me canner was at fault sued. I know she was hurting I was scared so bad but thankfully didn’t get my face. I ended up getting my chest, stomach and right arm totally tattooed to cover up scars you can’t even tell I was burned unless I show you. I just hope you’re ok.

Ouch, I really hope she is ok. Pressure cookers are pretty dangerous, the new ones have safety features but the old ones are a tad dangerous if the vent gets clogged.
