My son married a woman with 2 children 10 yrs ago. Her son is a quadriplegic from the age of 6 mos. It took 2 yrs for the drs to diagnose him. Finally, they found that he had Guirre Burre which left him a quad. But, his sister adores him and will care for him if something happens to her mom or my son. He is a high functioning quad as he can drive his adaptive car, can cook, can get in and out of bed. He just needs help with his personal care- his shwr routine. Currently at 23 y.o. he is trying to figure out life and where he belongs. So proud of him and his dedicated sister.

Purest of love. My grandson when he was little, said he will always take care of his uncle with aspergers. My son is now 43, my grandson is 22. I don't think that is going to happen. When he lost his only parent (mom) an RN in Jan. 2020, he started to have very severe anxiety and depression as well as PTSD. He needed his friends, a grief counselor, school and church to distract him from what had happened. He was locked down halfway in his Junior year and all of his Senior year. It was during the quarrentine and shelter in place, pretty much destroyed him. My husband and I are in our 70's and so scared about my son's future. We have no other family alive anymore. I pray your sweet son will always have a heart for his brother. I am sure he will!! I just know it! For us, just a lot of unpredictable things happened. I don't want to sound like a Debbie Downer, he was an only child so he never had a sibling his age to hang out with.
