I was tearing out wall insulation in an Iowa home when I was a teenager. It was full of newspapers. As we were discarding the papers when my brother came running up to me to show a news article. It showed my grandfather from Elwood, Indiana speaking for one of the mayors in 1932 during a campaign rally.
Nineteen eighteen seventy two was a crazy time, I tell you!

I had a friend I used to play softball with her and her husband went shopping one day for groceries they come home carrying everything into the house and they are going along the sidewalk it's only one of the squares caved in on the husband and he fell through to bottom of a 6-ft hole turns out it was some sort of basement and there was all kinds of old stuff down there old jars a bunch of change canned goods just various things down there they said they were kind of scared to even go through it so bunch of us came over and went down there to help because we were all curious it was kind of scary sounding when it all first happened but quite a spectacle but it was fun

I live in a house that was built in 1860 .we came across a notes in the wall from the past 3 owners.we add our note and put it into the silver box with the other families and placed it back in the same wall.
I left a note behind the to holder 20 years ago. Wonder if it’s been found yet
