"The Corner" was based on a drug user that overcame her addiction and ran a rehab facility in West Baltimore. Her son was named Andre. He was a well known figure in the streets of Baltimore. This show had nothing to do with the wire. The Corner was more fact based than The Wire. Sadly, Andre later lost his battle to the streets and addiction. RIH Brother
