they need to bring these back they look a lot better and actually work a lot better than most of these new things we have now
a can opener that lasts for 200 years or longer. no wonder they got rid of them. you cant make money on a product thats reliable
First can invented 1810, Used knives to open. Around 1870, first can opener invented. amazing inventions!
I have used the one from 1920, I'm shocked tho. never knew it was that old.
I have bought 5 new can openers in the past 3 yrs. The new ones strip out or bend or just brake. I need on of these.
what year did they start canning food in actual cans? what came first, the can / jar opener or did they figure it out in reverse? the first one I believe is a little early
How do these still work, and I use my brand new one, one time, and the bitch breaks 😂
Where can I buy one of these. I HATEEEE the new ones. They break easily and don’t work after a few uses
Never realized how strong women were back then till this video.
back when stuff was made to last
why do we always get rid of the good things, bring these back, the new can openers are shit
Crazy that these 100 year old can openers still work, yet I have literally 4 different fucking can openers that I've bought in the last 2 years, and not one of them work anymore! SMDH
Shit is better than the bull shit they sell this days
yet the ones we have now are way harder to do
They need to bring some of those back. They seem to work better than the ones now.
I'm 100% certain most of these were better designs than our current typical designs
bring them back hand held ones are cheap nowadays and electric never work correctly
Simple but so effective, why do we have to make everything nowadays so complicated?
It looks like you know how to oil the openers that have them work so effortlessly.
All of these openers are Wayyyy better than what we're using now ...made in China
I’ll take my simple P-38 from Vietnam era best can opener ever I still have one.
Now...THIS is content. So captivating, unique, different and, just......C👀L!👍🤙🤟🖖
wow I had one of them n didn't know what it was I think I threw it away
This is why I like old stuff because the new stuff doesn’t last but for six months yall see the dates on these
the first was my favorite. But ,am I the only one who thinks that most of these work better than todays openers
The new ones suck . We all know things made this day and age aren’t built to last . We all know why .
my grandma had one of these can opener she said they were better than the u got back in the 60s
I had one of the 1920s ones for almost 10 years lost it in the split between me and my ex shit was probably worth alot still worked great 😂😂😂
I need a can opener now my electric one done stop working and I had to use a knife and mallet to open some cans, not doing that again
they need to bring most of these back kuz they got the job done. these openers now a days be not cutting or fucking up
How come they’re all better than any other can opener at any price at any store made within the last couple decades 😑
The 1920's version is the one I grew up using and to this day i will not use an electric can opener my wife yes me no
We need to bring these back. They work a lot better like the third or fourth one. They just twist like the new days
Where can I get those?
they were all better than the crap they sell today that's for sure and most likely longer lasting might look they're over 100 years old
You're going to start noticing that the stuff we have today is pure shit in comparison to how it started. Zero quality and 500% markup
I just have to go to temu and buy some shit with all these features. look at me I can open a can of beans without breaking my tooth
I've often wonder why we still use canning as a method of storing food. it's 2025, you would think there's a better way!
I have a jar / can opener , you twist by hand to open the can. Great to have if you have no electricity, but it’s a challenge if you have arthritis like my mom did.Still was the most valued kitchen necessity 😀😀
Note all of them were made out of good strong metal, not that cheap dollar store junk.
these old can openers blow all the new school ones out of the water. no comparison!
That last one is literally the same type of thing we have now. the other ones are unique though
why is it that older tools work better than today's tool??? I think that's why you shouldn't destroy, remove, or replace any old tools because who knows one day it'll be more helpful than the new invention
I want the one from 1889 but imagine how thick their cans were back in the day. Everything we have is made out of aluminum foil and Styrofoam
Just goes to show that they built things to last back then because companies had integrity. Companies took pride in their products. We live in a consumer market now because of flat-out greed. So most consumer products for everyday life don't last.
They need to bring these back. They look a lot better. Actually, they work better. Those either the second or fourth one that was super good, but you just had to twist it. Like twist it now like then
Not made in China 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Love this
bring them devices back😁
Notice how they all work still. Show me one modern one still works after a year
I'm curious about the "Fan Favorite" model from 1890. I've done a little research and can't find any information about a can opener like that. Can you identify who made it?
fallout vibesss
Alll these years and we can’t get one good opener that last?? Might as well bring bk the olds ways!!
Man how long have they been putting shit in cans?
I still use the can opener lol
and now it's back in use 😉
cool
We need these back
First one the best
nice
their more sturdier 👍🏾 bring those designs back
I’m sure it works better than today’s options.💙💙💙💙👍👍👍👍😲😁
🥰🥰🥰🥰
cowboy up...😁
does anybody know of a device to open a stuck Italian stovetop espresso maker?
1890 all the way.
