So that is actually soap scum on the tub bottom it's not gray it's not a feature what's happened is the soap scum has built up in the textured bottom where it's put in so that you don't slip. You need to use strong degreaser or get one of those scrubbers that goes on the end of a drill or just a magic eraser let it eat but clean it better for sure.
