the problem here is that liberals don't actually believe the Department of Education was a utility for Education they think it was a utility for the government to help out, not to assure standards and lead.
whatever happened to PTA? The teachers union are setting policy that's making it where all kids pass and dumbed it down so bad if they go to college they can't make it through the first year. Just look at what these kids are thinking. We are in big trouble if we don't focus on our youth and help them excel. First and foremost give them a moral compass. 10 commandments are a great start. Second give them something to believe in that's not corrupt. Japan has a great model and I'm sure there's many more. Have the kids clean the school and teach them to work and show them there's rewards for hard work

absolutely correct 100% correct. and this is my own experience when I was younger I went to Catholic grade school Catholic high School my last two years of high school I had to transfer into a public school . I already was way past their junior class. they were trying to teach when they showed up things that I had learned in eighth grade and 9th grade. you transfer from public school to Catholic school you're automatically left back a year. I was so destroyed after going to Catholic school on my life and then transferring to a public school. I ended up leaving school because I was petrified number one to go there and number two they weren't teaching me anything that I already knew. and the teachers didn't show up half of the time. are public schools are a mess and absolute mess.
My mother put me in a mostly white school because she knew that I would get a good education, you can't racism doesn't exist

My sister was a teacher for almost 10 years at a public high school. She couldn’t take it anymore. Too many kids were deliberately disruptive, destructive, and violent. She couldn’t control her classroom because her hands were tied by the administrators. The kids who were well behaved and tried to get an education were bullied by the thugs.

I blame "no child left behind" ... instead of it paying for private tutors , or actually helping curriculum be more interesting to kids .. it simply lowered the passing grades in failing schools

There was no Department of Education before 1980. Jimmy Carter created it as a gift to teachers'unions.

Department education is a huge failure!! Of course the guy wants to blame on poor backgrounds. LOL another idiot! I came from a poor background and that doesn’t mean anything. DC is the worst place to control educational funds!
DOE wants porn is kids school libraries, want boys in girls bathrooms, boys in girls locker rooms, boys competing in girls sports, that should tell you about how evil democrats are!
through all of this bs I never hear about the parents not playing their part... schools are nothing more than. daycare for most. if my child couldn't read or do math, science etc they had no privileges. oh ya got a d In math? no hanging out with your friends, apparently ya need more study time... no phone, internet. too many young kids having kids and just wanna be their friends not parents.
I know 2 families in Chicago that are switching from public to private for these sort of reasons. less kids, less fighting, better teaching, and parents that get it. it ain't easy, but there is funding and scholarships,.all kinds of ways to get money to help pay for their schooling. Neither family is rich, but they're not poor either. The fees will hurt them, but they're working on it.
public schools are nothing but indoctrination stations. they don't teach us our rights for the laws that were all forced to obey. I've been alive for 41 years and I have never had to add two letters together in any job I've ever held.
The closer education is to home the better .. All education should begin at the local level with a overseen standard at the state level and "Thats All Folks!"
Public education in the USA is a joke rn. My mother is a teacher & her coworkers dislike her because my Mom actually cares about teaching the kids & won't just pass them up to the next grade level if the kid isn't on the right academic level. Not to mention the Bs she has to put up with from the parents who believe their child is never at fault.

What sucks is that most of these kids have the ability to read and do math really well at or above their grade level, they just don't WANT to so it shows in their grades and test scores what they're really capable of.
Government ran anything does worse then the private sector. Just look at the postal service compared to ups.
