DEI isn't about less qualified people being moved ahead of anyone. Most black people have been taught all of their lives that to get where you want to go you're going to have to work twice as hard. DEI might get you in the door but you still have to be able to do the work. The people who made hiring decisions before programs like DEI were like Trump. They would go through the motions during job interviews with black people but they had little or no intention to hire them no matter how qualified they were. . He ...and they still believe that black people should only do certain jobs. BLACK JOBS...his words..not mine. not blind to the possibility that highly qualified black pilots were probably passed over by less qualified white pilots because of institutional racism. .
