I have always said that despite the experience I’ve had as a black man good or bad for everyone crooked or racist cop they’re over 10 cops trying to get the job done the right way they just get over shadow by the negatives. So I take my hat off to them for the positives and prey for their families that they come home after their shifts

I see this video was in Gainsville, Virginia. I am a resident with a big family in Virginia and a lot of younger cousins who are kids. I do love this video with the officer who played with the kids. We need more like him and less discrimination and brutality from officers and have O'Neil.

I love this video. See the person who called didn’t know that this day their negativity would turn into something positive for the officer and young youths. The youth were doing a positive thing getting energy out only for someone to complain. Kudos to the officer for taking the time to interact with the youths. Shack Great job as well for your act of kindness as well. This is a great human story to show…..there are definitely GOOD officers and humans who go above and beyond.

perfect opportunity for Shaq to buy a plot of land for these kids and to build some nice courts for them to play on.. I'm sure he carries that type of money in his front pocket.. I'm sure that once words had gotten out he was planning on building the park. tons of people would have donated for that endeavor. probably would have costing just a fraction of the cost overall and these kids would be out of the street and the neighborhood would be at peace once again.. I don't know why some people have to complain about everything. If this was happening at midnight, yeah, if I asked them to keep it down and they didn't, maybe I'd call. This was daytime, when are they supposed to play? What a great police officer...and I was so surprised when Shaq showed up! can you imagine how excited those kids were?

If this is true , cop, I tip my cap to you. My son was arrested for not leaving his school playground when a babysitter afterschool person told him to leave. My son 12 years old , thought he had a right to play b-ball and wasn’t doing anything wrong. He waited for the police thinking he could get a fair chance to stay and play if he told the cop his side . The cops smacked the ball out of his hands and took him to jail and roughed him up trying to make him cry. My son wanted to play for a few minutes bc our house had just had caught fire earlier and we didn’t know when we would be able to go home. My boy DID NOT cry! I was so proud of him. They could have listened to my son. Changed his life forever. That’s one reason I have nothing but contempt for cops. Why we put up with anything less than the way you handled is beyond me. I’d wash your dam cop car ! Bc you deserve respect bc you give it. That’s the law.

What a welcome news story. I'm speculating that the person making the initial complaint probably didn't like the noise level, which probably was pretty loud, and I wouldn't be surprised if the "Karen" were white. The "basketball cop" 🏀 found a great solution, although I doubt if it reduced the noise level! Shaq's appearance was the icing on what was already a great cake!

Congrats to police officer. We need more cops like him. I met Shaquille O’Neil at my nieces HS graduation party. They graduated in same class. He was so nice he took pictures with all the guests. He was patient and gentle so cordial. He has to be one of the nicest human beings in the world have ever met

it's very cool that the officer did what he did! I had people playing basketball outside of my house for 15 hours a day! that bouncing ball non-stop for almost 15 hours a day is too much! I think that may have been the problem! just like if you're outside on a beach and someone's playing volleyball for hours and hours and hours and hours! but that's awesome that shaq got involved!
