food for thought: by now,..I'm mean LITERALLY by now, all of you should know that whenever anyone says, My mom, grandad or whoever elder in their family, showed me this, ITS A LIE lol. ..but a.. sweet lie. I'm just saying because I'm sure all of you have heard that many times without ever really thinking about it. lol it seems know one wants to give credit where it's actually belongs, because it'll take away a hard working smart intelligent "grandma"

..stupid & childish with the thumbs up, just buy a Rubbermaid container for sugar, it's air tight & you can see how much is in it, that looks tacky, if I can manage a $1.25 at The Dollar Tree, surely everyone else can & you don't have to go through all that trouble...looks better too...

Great idea! I don’t use that exact salt but the salt I do use comes in the same type container. Salt is so cheap I would buy some now to just cut the top off to do this with my sugar, rice and some beans! Thanks!!

The lid from a Parmesan cheese fits a standard mason jar. Save several, salt sugar seasoned flour etc.
