People saying this works are cracking me up! You obviously have never laid a heated floor or even heard of one! I've been doing tile for 32 years and this was just a case of poor installation period! 1 why did a perfectly good piece of tile have to come up.....because it was hollow and not set in mortar properly! 2 where was the grout? he already cut the grout out! This was 100% staged!

Bonus tip: Turn the torch stand around so the flame is actually not touching the floor when you set the torch down. Only you can prevent house fires. 😅

the back buttering comments make my heart jiggle. you only need to back butter walls and you need to make your grooves opposite for a suction affect. flooring tile you do not need to as gravity won't pull it anywhere. the comments on here are an entire fail. but the fact is there definitely wasn't alot of mortar and not sure about the heat technique but science is a weird thing and it's all possible

Perfectly good piece of tile what was the point of taking it up other than that’s BS because you can’t do that if that was the thin set mortar. Not to mention it wouldn’t have made the echoey sound while tapping.

So he is using the torch to heat the mortar up underneath and showing you can remove the tile instead of breaking it up or creating dust Although I would not recommend to do that. That’s a lot of BTU’s coming out of that torch and you could cause a fire But damn I think it’s amazing!!

Hell yes! I’m remembering that one. For that one time in my life I might need to do it. I love it.

I'd rather use water and a hammer 🤪 why was that perfect piece of tile getting removed anyway? honestly a torch would get me in trouble 🤣🤣

I wonder if that amount of heat does a number on the surface of the tile?

Unless he's specifically trying to remove the tile intact, he would be better off with a Bosch hammer drill with a diamond shaped bit, because that will break up the thinset as well as the tiles, you just need to maintain an angle in the machine does all the work.

All that tapping is unnecessary the torch is all u need to remove the tile the tile itself once it hit it will come right up

heat, makes the tile expand ,vibration breaks the bond... makes perfect sense...
