use extreme caution when doing this ! do not breathe the fumes. PVC emits hydrochloric acid when it is burned. these fumes cause irreparable damage to the bronchi. That's why PVC is not allowed in the construction of aircraft.

Putting an open flame in a drain pipe can be very dangerous because they may be gases in that pipe and could cause an explosion.
