The daughter said she was not straight because her mom was parting her hair down the middle. As one who used to do hair, a middle part is so easy to mess up especially if they are not positioned right. However, I can relate to the mom. With teens and young adult kids, we learn to show no judgement and remain calm no matter what our children share with us. My daughter told me many things I didn't want to hear that made me uncomfortable but I listened and was mindful of my facial expressions. I didn't want to discourage her from talking to me.
