Farmers have machinery to do most of the picking and harvesting these days. This post is BS. Believe it or not, some farmers are paid not to harvest a particular crop as well as some farmers have insurance covering crop lost. IMO

it's a tomato field which is picked by a machine, they don't hand pick much anymore some farmers still pick but we call them Amish . every farm I go to uses machines on thousands of acres of fields thanks to John deer. the laborers are way way way fewer thanks to technology

if this is real then why doesn't someone use their social media skills or team up with temporary worker places like Manpower and others to spread the word where workers are needed each day and get the job done. There are plenty of able bodied people looking for extra money that could help. Owner's of these farms need to band together, reach out for networking help if they need it, and make a system that works and pay a decent wage. if they can't or won't do that then the alternative is they won't be making any profit either. Figure out a plan and a solution instead of wasting all the time protesting and complaining. If America can't figure out a working solution to pick their own crops with legal citizens that's REALLY SAD. Our grandparents and forefathers would have got the job done!
