when I lived in Cuba we were up on a cliff about 80 foot above the water. there were so many fossilized corals. we picked up several and took them home with us for several years I was a volunteer teacher for 2 - 4 grade and the kids loved them. my son and I went fossil hunting a few times in a place we were told about it was several hundred miles from the ocean and Gulf. we called one of the colleges so they came out and explored the area. growing up my parents wanted some large rocks for our rock garden a friend let us go on their property and get all we wanted. we found all kind of small fossils several hundred miles from the ocean and Gulf. 🌸
