Why are people saying anything n.egative about these boxes. These are mothers that love their child enough to want better for them. We don't know their story and have no right to judge a decision they couldn't have made lightly. ♥
don't think it's that easy "walks away"....they are putting baby in a safe place....not left in a alley or dumpster. ...or worst yet a toilet.
It’s not abandonment. An alarm sounds immediately and the child can receive any necessary health and placement rather than abortion, death, etc.

“Dump”? Come on! I have adopted a “SAFELY SURRENDERED” child. The best thing that birth parent did for her child was to know she couldn’t take care of her. She made a conscious and loving choice instead of worse options. My daughter will know her tummy mommy loved her so much that she wanted the best for her and she couldn’t do that because she was “sick”.

I don't know the statistics, but it seems that over the last few years there has been a terrible increase in the deaths of infants, toddlers and young children. Not by disease or accident, but by the hands of their own caregivers. Parents, parent and significant other, foster parents, have been charged with starving, beating, burning, strangling/suffocating and molesting the children before they died. Alabama's solution is the most merciful and safest way that any child could have, if the mother must give it up. Thank you, Alabama.

This is the best for the newborn and the mother. It is a lifesaving process and gives the newborn a chance at life rather than being discarded like trash.
I would not say dump or abandon, that's a terrible thing to say. The mother is making a choice to give her child a better life, she does not hurt the baby, but she's making a safe choice for the child. These should be all over the country, maybe there would be less murder, neglect and child abuse!
