You can't arrest somebody for suspicion. You can only arrest if you know for sure. You must have evidence to back your opinion you cannot arrest somebody for suspicion. It must be a fact based arrest
It’s only considered theft if they leave the building
she is in the store looking at items it is not stealing not trying to leave the store.
I hate thieves
I used to work LP and that lady has all the right to sue the crap out of the store
if she never left the store then its not theft only thing they can do is trespass her
sure is a lot of cops abusing that badge
not a cop
she ended up winning a million dollar lawsuit against the police department because she was detained inside the store and not outside I guess she really did know her rights
Look at the Victim ACT start 😂😂😂
I hope you sue this ignorant cop. Suspicion-is a crime
Store officials do not have the right to detain, corporations say so and remind them often, be abuse in the chance you were innocent t and they detained you... that is kidnapping, in this case of a woman and her child, that is an expensive lawsuit to have over some make-up
should still she's hasn't left the store yet she's still in the same store
I've watched this before she's a nurse and her husband is a cop !
omg the husband just like "I dont want in this business""
the only suspicion u can have is to search not to arrest
The only problem with this video is that it doesn't become theft until you bypass the registers and head toward the exit. Where this woman is standing when the officer approaches her is clearly inside the store. She has not bypassed the register with any items, therefore it is not possible that she had committed theft.
they have to walk out the door
regardless of whether or not she is guilty of theft the reality is that you can stick as much merchandise in your pockets and personal bags as you want. But you're guilty of nothing unless you attempt leave without paying .PERIOD! This is actually called harassment in this case.
She is not a thief , she’s still inside the store so until by she leaves you can not stop her or arrest her period
I thought you were shoplifting if you exited the store with merchandise? How are you gonna arrest somebody for shoplifting if they haven’t left the store? I don’t care if they have merchandise in their pockets. They haven’t left the store so they’re not stealing they could be holding the merchandise until they get up to the counter? This doesn’t make sense.🥺
She didn't walk out of the store with merchandise, she didn't steal, and she could win a huge settlement if she did get "detained/arrested".
she is still in the store so has not passed 5gevpoint of purchase
I believe shoplifting is when you walk out the door without paying not for looking at something. Shit I'm in trouble!
go figure another pig making up her own law 🙄
fake
What people don’t know is… stores are public/private property. Security have the right to detain you until the police come. But only when they know for a fact that you are stealing. The video has to be spot on though because they can sue.
Looks like a bad stop she's going to sue that store make some money
Detained isn’t some kind of magical word that defends them because they got suspicious.
she's not a cop. she can't detain her
Hate these videos what happened 🙄
She didn't leave the store.
part 2 anybody??
shes didnt n leave the store yet
The baby pressed charges against the officer and won a million dollar diapers lawsuit.
Never let them take you to a second location. She has no proof that's a cop and all she's doing is rightfully resisting a kidnapping
unless you are leaving the building it's not stealing and I would say if you search me I'd be rich
she has to leave the store before you can arrest her for thief now she can say she was going to pay for it
I don't know the law but I thought you had to leave the store with it before its theft. You could still claim you haven't been to the cashier yet and you were planning on paying fir it.
it's only stealing if you walk out the store with out paying for it because you can say I was going to pay for that or items
OK, but if they’re stuffing products in their purse from the store that they haven’t purchased that is probable cause
But yet some of you police 🚔 take a life when it's my people in front of their kids
Whybare you giving her a choice? Oh I know because she's ..... !😠🤬😠🤬
so what the heck is she stealing ??
lock her up throw the key away
you can definitely detain someone for suspicion of theft. They didn't say she was being detained for just being suspicious. Idk why you keep saying arrested either. She's only being detained while they investigate a possible theft.
it's not theft without the attempt to leave without paying. she was still in the store so technically you don't know for sure if she intends to pay for whatever you think she is hiding
The people that work loss prevention have to be 100% certain you are stealing before it gets to this point. In that job there is zero room for errors. If you accuse someone and it's found out they weren't stealing you lose your job.Period! They don't approach people lightly.
suspicion is not a crime lmao
Usually they wait outside the store. With like 1-2 other people waiting to chase you. Once you leave the store, it’s considered theft. Department stores will hawk eye you and then bam. Got ya
gotta be not white to get away with it, goldie locks
She didn’t even leave the store with the.. so that means that they have her on camera stealing in the past.. probably a kleptomaniac.
